Magnetic Plaques

These are fun to make. You can make them for anywhere in your house, whether it be in your living room or your kids rooms, they are sooo easy to make. They have a ton of cute scrapbook paper out there now, so the possibilities are endless. I just cut the paper to the size of the plaque, then ripped all 4 edges and distressed the edges with a black and brown stamp pad. Then, glued the paper to top of plaque, nailed on metal sheet, and placed vinyl lettering on bottom. I also drilled 2 holes @ the top and strung tulle, and tied a bow. They were super easy and super cute!

  2. The metal sheets were already pre-cut, and I purchased them at a local craft Hobby Center. They have a variety of sizes to pick from for fairly cheap. Then I drilled holes in the corners, and bought little finish nails to nail in the holes.

  3. Did you buy the plaques at a craft store, too? I wonder if those ugly brown plaques that I see at thrift stores would work...cleaned and painted, of course!

  4. Hi Robin...thanks for the question...The plaques are just a 1x8 or 1x10(whatever size you'd prefer) pine boards that I bought and cut at Home Depot. If you don't have a saw to do it yourself...they can cut it for you at the store if you'd like.
